In 2017 I completed my Masters of Science in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics at Dalhousie University with Robert Beiko, Paul Bentzen, and Ian Bradbury. This led to my current role as an Aquatic Systems Biologist at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography. My work is centered around applying novel and established methods to investigate the genetic structure of Atlantic salmon in Atlantic Canada. I use landscape genetics techniques to understand the forces that shape current population structure, and assess the prevalence of interbreeding and subsequent genetic interactions between wild and farmed escapee Atlantic salmon.
