Fine-scale structure of sea scallop within a coarse latitudinal gradient

In a new paper out of the lab, Lehnert et al. used a panel of 96 diagnostic SNPs across a large geographic range to show genetic structure along an observed latitudinal gradient. Additional fine-scale structure was detected between inshore and offshore sites near the previously described boundary. Both coarse and fine-scale structure were associated with seasonal temperature regimes during periods of thermal minima, which may explain the observed structure between inshore and offshore sites.
