Katherine Haché

Katherine is a Master’s student at Dalhousie University, co-supervised by Dr. Ian Bradbury and Dr. Paul Bentzen. Her project is looking at genomic diversity in the small freshwater species Banded Killifish, whose Newfoundland population is listed as being of “Special Concern” by COSEWIC. Using whole genome sequencing of samples from across Atlantic Canada, her work aims to answer questions about the evolutionary significance of the Newfoundland population, as well as about diversity amongst clonal lineages of the asexually reproducing hybrids of Banded Killifish and Mummichog.
