I am a PhD student in biology at Dalhousie University, supervised by Ian Bradbury and Paul Bentzen. I am working on predicting changes to biodiversity (both within and among species) in northern Canadian freshwater ecosystems, as well as identifying some of the drivers of these predicted changes, using a variety of genomic methods. I am using environmental DNA metabarcoding to determine community composition of freshwater fishes in Labrador, and subsequently look for associations between these communities and environmental factors. I am also continuing previous work investigating the genomic vulnerability of Arctic Charr in Labrador using whole genome resequencing data, and will additionally investigate the role that epigenetic variation (specifically DNA methylation) may play in adaptation to future climate change for this species.
