Jennifer FitzGerald and Michaela Harris were visited by a harbour seal Friday morning while tending to the experimental mesocosm at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography in Dartmouth, NS, where many of the Bradbury lab members work. Jennifer and Michaela are members of Dr. Claudio DiBacco’s lab with Fisheries and Oceans Canada. Claudio regularly collaborates with Ian and other Bradbury lab members.
Marine mammal experts have been contacted and the seal will be monitored overnight or for as long as it decides to get involved with the DiBacco lab’s work on invasive tunicates.
